The Nat Pollard Foundation, presented by Pollards & Associates, was established to honor the life, legacy, and impact of Birmingham Negro Leagues baseball player Nat Pollard. Inspired by his dedication, perseverance, and love for the game, the foundation is committed to opening doors for the next generation of student-athletes.
Through the Nat Pollard Scholarship, the foundation provides assistance to deserving young baseball players who demonstrate academic achievement, financial need, strong character, and a passion for baseball. Scholarship recipients may receive support for essential baseball equipment—including gloves, cleats, uniforms, and other necessary gear—helping remove financial barriers so they can pursue their dreams on and off the field.
Recipients are selected through an application, academic review, financial need assessment, and interview process, ensuring that each scholarship is awarded to students who exemplify determination, integrity, and a commitment to excellence.
Beyond financial assistance, the Nat Pollard Foundation seeks to preserve the rich history of the Negro Leagues while inspiring youth to embrace education, leadership, sportsmanship, and community service. By investing in young athletes today, the foundation carries forward Nat Pollard’s legacy and helps build tomorrow’s leaders.

Submission Requirements
- Complete the official Nat Pollard Scholarship application.
- Submit a current report card or official transcript.
- Provide proof of enrollment in school.
- Submit a one-page essay: “How Baseball Has Impacted My Life and Future Goals.”
- Provide one letter of recommendation from a teacher, coach, pastor, or community leader.
- Submit proof of participation in baseball (team roster, coach verification, or league registration).
- Complete a scholarship interview if selected as a finalist.
